Fotoscope

If you're like me and can't keep your finger off the snapshot button, its well worth a trip to Fotoscope. The sim is built for taking photos. There are many poses balls set out for individuals, couples or groups. You can rezz your own pose stand or props too.
With lots of different settings and backgrounds, I could have stayed there for hours, trying out the poses and messing about with windlight settings. I especially liked dancing in this glass, pretending I was Dita Von Teese.
There is also a shop selling photography related products and a gallery of photos taken at Fotoscope.

Risk City

Risk City is made up of an eclectic collection of spots to explore. My first stop was at the chocolate factory where you can drown yourself in the stuff. I stood under a chocolate waterfall  and was expecting an oompa loompa to drag me out at any minute but not one in sight.
Next I went to the Ice Storm where it was so cold I was literally turning into an ice cube but using the free ice skates, went for a skate round and soon warmed myself up. You should have seen me go. Jane Torville had nothing on me, I could be in the next Winter Olympics.
Risk City is a place of mishmash areas to explore such as the secret bedroom, spa, shop, etc and the only place in SL that I have been chased by a hippo wearing a top hat (so far anyway)

New Brighton Pier

The next rl based sim I visited was a little closer to home, New Brighton Pier. I had to go on the pier first. I love them in rl but am always abit wary of them collapsing, as if I just might be the straw that broke the camels back after them standing unwavering for years. I played on the arcade games for a while then feeling daring, parachuted off the pier only to end up in the sea.
After drying off, I picked up a free scooter and sped off along the sea front (as speedy as a scooter will go anyway). As the weather seemed bright I decided to go for a quick dip and changed into my cossie in one of the beach huts. Watch out for the killer whales if you go for a swim. It was getting abit nippy so after changing back in to my clothes, sat in a deck chair and warmed myself up with a brew.
I went back to the pier for a final play on the arcade games, got myself some candy floss and admired the view from the end of the pier. Exploring at New Brighton Pier I found loads of things to do. There is a hot air balloon, tower elevator, 7 seas fishing, parachuting, arcade games as well as a club and some shops.

Kowloon

Today I paid a visit to a sim based on the real life walled city in Hong Kong, Kowloon. I opened the massive wooden gates to the city and entered. Neon lights keep the narrow shop lined streets bright. (I turned my settings to sunset to see the lights better). Exploring the dark alley ways, I found that there are apartments to rent here.
Its kind of like a maze here and I was getting lost in the alley ways when I found a park.
I don't know you can feel claustrophobic in SL but I was glad to be in the open air again.

Urchinville

After my brush with zombies at Cheshire and my dismal attempt at shooting them, I thought that I needed some practice in defending myself against the undead and so went to Urchinville.
I arrived at a warehouse in Urchinville which is part of the safe base. There are afew apartments to rent and an area for target practice in the compound as well. I picked myself a free gun from the warehouse then went outside to have a go at shooting the targets. I didn't think I did too bad considering I don't use weapons in SL but then again, the targets don't move. When I felt ready to face the zombies I left the compound. I crept about, expecting to be attacked by hordes of the undead at any second but first I saw the head crabs. Nasty little creatures...
They didn't look very fast to me at first. That was until one jumped at my face (I actually jumped and squealed, little the big girl I am). I must say I was absolutely useless at shooting the head crabs. I was slightly better at blasting the zombies (I think) when they appeared. I was losing drastically so decided to head back to the compound.

I sat in the base, exhausted, waiting for the cavalry to arrive (or just someone who could shoot marginally better than me, which wouldn't be hard) because with an appalling score of minus something, I don't think saving the human race is a job for me.

Cheshire

If you love Alice in Wonderland like me, Cheshire is an excellent place to look round. I arrived on a giant chess board and from there crawled through a tiny door and to the Duchess's house. It looked like she was expecting company with all that food and I sneakily took a lemon tart (I doubt she'll miss it).
I left the house and using the handy tiny doors went to off various destinations. Near the lighthouse, is a teacup ride I just had to jump on.
Over in Alices room, I must have drank the same thing Alice had as everything was enormous. I had to be careful not the get run over by the toy train.
Beware if you take a door to the abandoned house. I was attacked by zombies as soon as I arrived. I rested in the house for awhile (hoping that I hadn't been bitten) then deciding that I couldn't hide in here forever, came out of the house and with a gun I found there, shot afew zombies and made my escape through another door.
Cheshire also has a shopping plaza which sells a variety of items and if you want to dress as a character from Alice in Wonderland, this has got to be the place to come.

Prim Hearts

I've always loved the noise and smell of fairgrounds so I went looking for an amusement park and found Prim Hearts. It has absolutely loads of rides, a carousel, ferris wheel, water rapids, log flume, too many to list. The rides can also be bought here if you want any for your own land or build.
I tried my luck at the tombola and won a massive heart balloon. Had fun racing the miniature boats. You can even soak one of your friends, if you can talk them in to getting in the dunk tank.
There are various food stalls dotted about and I stuffed my virtual face with pizza, cola, fish and chips and lemonade - Its a wonder I didn't throw up.
I had a great time here. The only thing missing is the smell of hot dogs and candy floss.

Ozimals

Today I visited another shop to explore the surroundings. Ozimals sells breedable bunnies *aww*. They are really cute but I don't know if I could trust myself to keep them alive (then again I don't suppose they are as temperamental as my rl ones)
Its a fairytale like setting with toadstool houses. Watch out for the mushroom ring, you never know how long fairies will make you dance ( I'm sure some of the moves were abit Tina Turner -ish)
I tped round various areas using the tp ports which are dotted around and found myself at a Mad Hatters Teaparty in Pucks Glen. It has a bright, cartoony quality to it and if you visit the shop its worth looking round the surrounding area.

Noah's Ark

I visited the surreal, water flooded, Noah's Ark today. Wading ankle deep , I set out to explore. Sculptures and floating bubbles are set out randomly. Providing good settings for photos.

When I found the Ark , I saw that it is a wedding venue (couple pose balls are dotted about and it is a kinda romantic place).  Noah's Ark is also home to Fortunate Cafe & Bar. Flying up, I noticed an island, perfect little hide away.

While here I found sunrise and sunset settings better for me.

Cream Shop

Today I tped over to Cream Shop. I'd heard of it through seeing a vid of the place on You Tube so I thought I'd go and check it out. While it is a shop like the hundreds of others round SL, the build is brilliant. The items sold there look as detailed as the build its self. I especially liked the accessories (so I had to buy something).
It constantly rained so I actually felt quite at home being used to UK weather. The ducks looked like they enjoyed it anyway and didn't seem to mind swimming with all the rubbish. I went over to the record shop, minding not to get run over by one of the taxis. Up above the shop I found a bedroom and as there didn't seem to be anybody else around, I had a sneaky go of the Atari that was in there. Looking around more, I noticed some crime tape and blood stains in a couple of places ... wonder what had gone on here?
Cream Shop is very well built with a gloomy, lonely atmosphere. If you are planning to visit, don't forget your wellies and brolly.

Arcachon

My travels today took me to the french harbour, Arcachon. I spotted some scooters near the harbour and thought I'd save my legs for a while. I took a scooter tour which ends near the light house. There I decided to try my hand at fishing. I actually caught one but was too slow on reeling in so the bugger escaped - honest. After fishing I tried a couple more active sports, hand gliding and sailing. Neither of which I was brilliant at but I had fun trying them out.
After all that excitement, I headed back towards the harbour and found myself in Bar Botons where I grabbed myself a Jack Daniels and a ciggie and passed a bit of time with Raoul, the bartender. I thought I'd better get moving or I'd be there for the night. Leaving the bar I bought myself a postcard as a souvenir of the day.
Walking towards a hot air balloon, not far from the bar, I saw a hopscotch grid and couldn't help myself (maybe the JD had gone to my head). Then I got inside the hot air balloon and floated off in to the night sky. Arcachon is a beautiful place to visit, with sandy beaches, quaint shops and plenty of actitives. I'll definitely be paying a return visit.

Lemondrop's Forest

So anyway, here's my first post ... yay. Yesterday I decided to try and save my lindens and not shop ( for an hour or so anyway ) and this is where I went - Lemondrop's Forest. First thing I saw were pigs flying in rockets *awww* then I jumped in to a gondola ( which is no easy feat in heels )and steered my way through a passage way, past a couple of corpses and to Lemondrop's Village.
Jumping from the gondola, being careful to avoid the sharks, I headed to the Cartoon Art Gallery. The featured artist is Mary Blair, who did concept art for Disney. The pictures all give you information about the artist when clicked. You will probably recognise the art as soon as you see it.
As I explored this higgledy-piggledy village I found myself in the sewer's and being a big croc's snack ...AHH!!!
After finally escaping, I started my trek up an enormous pink tree (which even I can't miss with my bad eyesight). I was getting a bit tired at this point so piloted one of the leaf gliders then treated myself to a box of fairy scout cookies when I landed. Lemondrop's Forest is a fun, whimsical place. Well worth a visit.
